In an interesting and accessible form, this book reviews the evolution and development patterns of the architecture of the Bukhara Oasis and the city of Bukhara during their heyday in
the 15th–17th centuries. Local features, as well as mutual influences between the architecture of
the other Central Asian regions and the Middle East are revealed. For the first time, a number
of less-studied structures and new data are presented, as well as analytical tables, in which the
author systematizes the typological, constructive and decorative features of the architecture of
the oasis. The content is illustrated by more than 300 images and drawings, including a number
of rare historical and archival materials published for the first time.
